Bee’s Emporium was started in 2011 by Annabel, in the humble beginnings of her father’s warehouse in Royal Wootton Bassett, with just 10 book shelves of stock. 6 years on it has grown into its own 2500 square foot warehouse, with over 7000 titles available and over 125,000 orders supplied.
In 2016, she invited Andy to join her in taking a share in the business and between them they have over 30 year’s experience of selling books and stationery. The mix of youth and experience (Annabel’s words) complement each other well and has seen the business grow from strength to strength.
The name ‘Bee’s Emporium’ came from the fact that Annabel has always been known as ‘Bee’ by her family, even though they can’t remember why that is! It can cause confusion and the team have lost count of the number of times they have had visitors asking if they sell ‘honey or bees’, maybe something to move into in the future?
Both Annabel and Andy are animal lovers and when not working, Annabel can be found with her beautiful (and talented) horse Lilly, competing in dressage events around the stunning Cotswold area. Andy is also roped into helping with the horse events and is responsible for all manner of horse treats! Chutney is the official company cat (tabby Maine Coon) and spends most of his time sleeping or eating!
